LatinoBuilt earns two DJC Oregon Building Diversity Awards

The Daily Journal of Commerce 2023 Diversity Awards held March 30, 2023, recognized LatinoBuilt for its design-build commercial office project. In addition, Bryan Ortiz, LatinoBuilt Foundation advisory board member and AGC Oregon-Columbia Chapter Safety Management Consultant was recognized for his individual contributions to building equity.
The new LatinoBuilt offices, which opened in spring of 2022, are critical to helping the trade association expand its mission to support and empower Latino-owned businesses in construction. The dedicated space at 8548 S.W. Apple Way in Portland is used for technical assistance, mentoring, workshops and trainings to level the playing field for Latinx-owned businesses to compete for government contracts. The project was funded through the LatinoBuilt Foundation’s Nuestro Hogar program, and done entirely by LatinoBuilt members, led by Home Energy Life Performance (H.E.L.P.) Group Inc.
In addition, Bryan Ortiz, LatinoBuilt Foundation advisory board member and AGC Oregon-Columbia Chapter Safety Management Consultant recognized. Bryan was recognized for his commitment to building equity by bringing a bilingual and culturally-specific approach to his work, breaking down barriers and ensuring opportunity for all.
