Lucy came to the U.S. from Guatemala in 2001 seeking a better life for her and her two children. She worked full-time as a housekeeper and saved up to bring her children to the U.S. In 2020, she bought a mobile home in Beaverton, Oregon, only to find out it was uninhabitable. With donated labor by LatinoBuilt Trade Association members, and generous cash contributions, Lucy and her family received a renovated home in the Spring 2021.
